Committee & Task Force
Get involved by serving on a
Committee or Task Force
Article VIII of the Chapter Charter provides the Chapter
the opportunity of establishing committees and task forces based on the
Chapter's program and administrative needs. The Charter also mandates
three committees for the Chapter:
- Executive Committee
- Chapter Committee on Nominations and Leadership Identification
- Chapter Ethics Committee
Volunteering for a committee or task force is one the best ways to
get involved with the Chapter. Members to committees and task forces
are made by the Chapter President and affirmed by the Chapter Board.
In making appointments, the President and the Chapter Board
give consideration to members’ competence, geography, gender, gender
identity, ethnicity, sexual orientation, experience, and unit
recommendations.
NASW membership in good standing is a requirement
for all committee and task force appointments.
The most
important element in making a committee or task force appointment is interst
of the member. Email your interst in a committee or task force
appointment to the Chapter President at president@naswhi.org.
All committees and task forces, except for the Executive
Committee and the Chapter Committee on Nominations and Leadereship
Identification (CCNLI) are able to receive appointments. For the
Executive Committee and CCNLI, members are elected to the committee through
the membership vote. CCNLI consists of three elected positions.
For the Executive Committee, it is a requirement of the following
positions to serve on the committee:
- President
- President Elect
- First Vice President
- Second Vice President for Budget and Finance
- Secretary
